TRAVEL GRANT ANNOUNCEMENT (Updated 23/5/2023)

Dear WCMB 2023 Community,

It is our pleasure to announce the recipients of the WCMB 2023 Travel Grants for Young Scientists. We received a large number of excellent applications, making the selection process very competitive. After careful review, the following individuals have been awarded travel grants to attend the 6th World Conference on Marine Biodiversity, which will be held in Penang, Malaysia:


(A) TRAVEL GRANT AWARDEE SPONSORED BY SCOR FULL TRAVEL GRANT (USD 370 fees + USD 230 Travel Support = USD 600)


  1. Mannage Lenin Indirajith De Silva – Sri Lanka
    University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka.

    Title: Taxonomy of Harmotrema sp. infecting intestine of Hydrophis schistosus, Hydrophis curtus, Hydrophis cyanocinctus and Hydrophis spiralis marine snakes of Sri Lanka.


  1. Samson Job Philemon – Tanzania
    School of Aquatic and Fisheries Technology, University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
    Title: Ocean acidification impacts on commercially important sea cucumbers of the Indo-Pacific region are understudied.


  1. Phurich Boonsanit – Thailand

  1. Diana Leticia Salcedo Oropeza – Mexico
